A sophomore at the University studying political science, macroeconomics and legal studies, At Large Alternate Delegate Cody Morgan has made the “Dean's List” all semesters of his study and has achieved “Top of the Class” standing while pursing his goal of attending George Mason Law School and practicing either Constitutional, or Criminal, Law.
He is also a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America and an Eagle Scout, and in the scouting program, has also been inducted into the Order of the Arrow and is a Brotherhood member.
An avid sportsman, Cody is a lifelong hunter and continues the tradition of hunting that his family has passed down to him. In 2010 he was inducted into the Maine Antler and Skull Trophy Club for a 12 point 203lbs deer he harvested on his family's property.
Before college while attending Bangor High School, Cody graduated with Highest Honors and was the Battalion Executive Officer, with the rank of Major, of the school's Army JROTC program. While in JROTC, Cody achieved many outstanding accolades, including: Drill Team captain, perennial Individual Drill Routine champion in New England, National Soujourner award winner, Daughters of the American Revolution award winner, 2nd in command of a 120 person battalion, and was one of the most, if not the most, decorated member of the battalion.
Cody has also shown a proven record of political activism and awareness. First becoming active in the political landscape in 2010 with the election of Gov. Paul LePage, Cody advanced his political activism throughout high school, eventually becoming the President of the Young Republicans at Bangor High School his senior year, and has continued that passion into college. Cody started a Youth for Ron Paul chapter on his campus, turning it into the largest chapter in the state during the election, and became the President of the Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) at the University of Maine. Cody attended the YAL National Convention in Washington D.C. in July of 2012 where 250 young Americans were selected from many applicants around the country. At the 2012 Maine GOP State Convention, Cody was elected an alternate delegate at-large to the GOP National Convention in Tampa, as well as the Presidential Elector for the Second District of Maine.
Cody will be attending the GOP convention with his mother, 2nd District Alternate Delegate, Julie Morgan.
